Top prize goes to Laura!
On Friday 3rd June the Education Authority held its annual music service awards ceremony.
Laura Lu, a P.7. student was nominated to receive the Florence Hamilton cup for most promising year 7 string player.
Along with Laura, there were another 10 students nominated from the southern area board with the winner to be announced on the night.
After some very impressive performances from the older students, the award ceremony began. Laura waited patiently, but full of nerves, until her category was called. Gillian Porter from U.T.V presented all the nominees with a certificate before announcing the winner. We were delighted when Laura's name was called out and she was presented with the cup. Laura has made history for St. Patrick's as this is the first time we have had a music student nominated let alone win!
We are very proud of her and wish her every success in future years.
