Primary 7s visit TESCO

14th Nov 2016

Mrs Perry and Mr O' Hare's Primary Seven classes recently travelled to the TESCO store in Portadown. Their trip date also coincided with the Hindu feast of Diwali. On arrival both classes were met by the Store Educational Officer Audrey who explained that an Indian food tasting day had been organised for all to try. A member of the staff called Bindia had made four traditional, Indian dishes for the P7 children to try, including onion baji, chick peas in traditional sauce and spices vegetable rice. A traditional Indian style sweet was snapped up for dessert. The second half of the morning was spent down on the store floor where Bndia challenged the pupils to find all the ingredients to her feast within the store aisles and encouraged the children to shop wisely and economically. Mrs Perry's class also got a chance to get a close up view of a few fish on sale at the TESCO fish counter. A great day out.
