VARDO Project showcase in Marketplace
The pupils in Mr O Hare's Primary Seven class have been involved in a project entitled VARDO as part of their World Around Us Topic this term. The main aim of the project delivered by staff in the AMMA Centre was to use digital technology to create short films highlighting the cultural diversity within our community today. The pupils focussed on six specific countries and in groups researched, planned, created story boards ,wrote scripts ,filmed their pieces and finally edited everything on their iPads. All this was done using software such as iMovie, puppet pals and green screen apps on the schools' iPads .Three other schools were also involved in the project,St Francis of Assisi PS Keady,Mount St Catherine's PS Armagh ,and St Joseph's PS in Meigh.
As a grand finale the schools all invited friends and relatives to a showcase evening in the Marketplace Theatre where pupils had a chance to show off their travel guide style films. All schools received a special green screen kit for future use back in the classroom and pupils who had created outstanding films were rewarded with special "Future Fil Crew" awards. A big big thank you again must go to Grainne Cullinane who helped the pupils so much during the project and on our big night in the Market place.
Please scroll down to the bottom of the home page to watch just one of our Travel Guides. There are a total of six to enjoy so keep checking as the films will change every few weeks.
