Technology in Primary Seven
Mr O'Hare's P7 class took part in a technology challenge yesterday organised by Mr Seaan Clancy, Student Teacher from St Mary's University College Belfast. Within the challenge the children we given paper cups, straws, lollipop sticks, a length of duct tape and a small sheet of cling film. The pupils were asked to design a floating structure on paper that would be strong enough to hold 25 two pence piece coins before sinking. Once designed the pupils began building their creations in groups. Finally they tested their masterpieces in a targe tank of water in the classroom and counted as each coin was added. The winning structure held an amazing 136 two pence coins before sinking.A big thank you to Mr Clancy for all his preparation for this great fun.
