St Patrick's Primary School, Armagh

September Award Winners P1-P7

4th Oct 2024
Just when we thought we couldn't be any prouder of our amazing boys and girls in St. Patrick's, a week like this comes along where we get to hear so many new stories of the achievements, efforts, kindness and friendship of our magnificent pupils.

In what was a bumper week for awards assemblies and celebrations, we had so many children truly delighted to either be presented with a certificate from Mr McKinley for their start to the school year, or bursting with excitement to share their achievements from outside of school.

We heard of so much hard work and progress from all of our pupils right across the school, including examples of excellent mental maths, improving reading comprehension, beautiful handwriting, descriptive written recounts, and creative pieces of artwork. Just as pleasingly, we heard so many examples of kindness throughout the school, including examples of fantastic friendship, turn-taking, sharing with others, and polite manners to all pupils and staff  - what more could we ask for?

Individually, during our P1-P4 assembly, Danny, Riona, Kassie, Caoimhin, Daithi Mc, George, Lucia, Matilda, Daithi B and Danielle were invited to the front of the hall to share with us what they have achieved outside of school. We were told about success with the Scouts, in gaelic football, camogie, dog racing, and some particularly beautiful Irish dancing trophies - we'll be able to put on our own performance of Riverdance soon enough with all of these talented dancers!

During our P5-P7 assembly, we heard about Tonijs' gaelic football efforts, Cian's success at a recent soccer tournament at Portadown FC, and Eoghan, Calum and Conor's pride at participating in the half-time games of the recent Armagh Hurling Championship finals.

It's a wonder we had time to do any work after all of that! Congratulations to all of our award winners and achievers this week - keep at it!
