School Makes Donation to Mary’s Meals and SVP
20th Jun 2024
Two recipients of our school's charitable causes visited school this week to speak with the children and share what a huge difference our donations will make to people.
Lily Conway from Marys Meals Armagh and Benburb Group spoke to us all, thanking pupils and their families for their donations towards our school's collection. The bucket was over-flowing with coins of all denominations. She shared her appreciation for the work our school and all of our pupils do to help others through Mary's Meals.
We were also joined by Siobhan Devlin, the new President of the Society of Saint Vincent de Paul Armagh (SVP.) She was delighted to receive a donation from school following collections made this term. SVP's focus is on a practical approach to dealing with poverty, alleviating its effects on individuals and families through working primarily in person-to-person contact by a unique system of family visitation and seeking to achieve social justice and equality of opportunity for all citizens. Families in our local area will benefit directly from this donation.
These charitable donations were only possible because of the generosity of our pupils, their families and our wider school community. Once again, the St. Patrick's Primary School community has risen to the challenge of helping others.
