P7s visit Big Bang Fair.
Mr O'Hare and Mrs Perry's P7 pupils travelled to the University of Ulster in Jordanstown on Monday 12th June 2017 for the Sentinus Young Innovators " Big Bang Science Fair". The day involved two "hands on" workshops where the pupils created helicopters that flew and also created launch pad devices that propelled ping pong balls into the air. The main Sports Hall was crammed full of STEM related exhibition stands relating with all things in the Sciecnce, Technology, Engineering and Maths line. Pupils had first hand access to scientists and astronauts, builders and designers, architects and engineers who were more than willing to answer all STEM type questions. The pupils built and launched rockets in the air, played with flight simulators and raced pneumatic race cars at super sonic speeds. The afternoon included an interactive show giving kids a glimpse of how technology of the future might allow humans to "Power Up" their abilities. This show featured mass experiments and mind blowing demonstrations. Please look carefully at the adjoining photos.
