St Patrick's Primary School, Armagh

Mrs Eithne O’Hare RIP

12th Jul 2024
It is with heavy hearts that the Governors and Staff of St. Patrick’s Primary School Armagh acknowledge the passing of our beloved former colleague, Mrs Eithne O'Hare. She was a cherished member of our school’s community, leaving an everlasting impact on all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Eithne dedicated her passion and expertise to the education of our pupils for over two decades. From her appointment in 1972 until her retirement in 1994, she nurtured and inspired the minds of hundreds of children as she taught Primary 1 and Primary 2. Her unwavering dedication to fostering a love for learning will always be remembered.

Before joining our St. Patrick's family, Eithne served as the Principal of Manooney Primary School in Killylea. Her leadership and commitment to education were evident throughout her tenure, making a lasting difference in the lives of her pupils and colleagues.

Eithne's time in St. Patrick’s was intrinsically linked with her beloved husband, Jack, who also graced our school community. Together, they shared their knowledge and passion with unwavering dedication. Jack later became the Principal of St. Patrick's, and together, they continued to shape the future of our school until their joint retirement in 1994.

As we mourn the loss of a remarkable teacher and dear friend, let us remember Eithne for her lifelong commitment to education, her passion for teaching reading, and her deep love for poetry. May her legacy continue to inspire us all to make a difference in the lives of others, just as she did.

Rest in Peace, Mrs O'Hare. You will forever hold a special place in the heart of the St. Patrick's Primary School Armagh family.
