Joe Mc’s Block Brings The House Down!

When the news that Sam Maguire and Joe McElroy would be visiting our school came through, our staff and pupils got to work on how to best mark the occasion.

One thing that our pupils have a great flair for is singing, so there always had to be plenty of that. G Stands for Geezer, and The Boys from the County Armagh both had fabulous renditions, but there was one song in particular that our boys and girls put real heart and effort into.

In honour of our special guest Joe McElroy, we wrote a song about his All-Ireland winning block in the last seconds of the final.

Rock n’ Roll legend Elvis Presley’s classic song “Jailhouse Rock” was given a major twist and transformed into St. Patrick’s Primary School’s “Joe Mc’s Block.”

The kids brought the house down with their singing as we paid tribute to the man of the hour. You can find the lyrics attached in the comments below.
