Grandparent's Day
Catholic Schools Week 27 January – 3 February 2019
The theme for Catholic Schools Week this year is Catholic Schools: Celebrating the work of our local Catholic Schools.
Wednesday 30th January -Grandparents’ Day. Primary Three classes had a special Grandparents’ Day. First there was a beautiful prayer service of thanksgiving lead by Father Thomas. All children had the opportunity to speak about how special their grandparent’s are to them. The grandparent’s then enjoyed a cup of tea, some scones and tray bakes before visiting their grandchildren in their classrooms. Each child made a special thank you card to present to their grandparents on arrival to the classroom.Grandparents can play a special role in the lives of their grandchildren. They can be very important teachers who show them how to love, how to be caring and how to share. They can teach about the past and about the importance of caring for each other. They can also teach about God and how prayer is such a wonderful way to talk to God. The children had a wonderful day celebrating God’s gift to us; grandparents.
PRAYER: Lord, we thank you for our grandparents, help us to be thankful for all they teach us and do for us. AMEN
