Digital Leaders Visit Dream Space at Microsoft
13th Mar 2025
The early start for our Digital Leaders on Tuesday morning proved to be very worthwhile as they travelled to Dublin to visit Dream Space located within the Microsoft Ireland offices.
Alongside 4 other schools in the Armagh cluster, the pupils were given a guided tour of the modern Microsoft facilities and technology and were also able to observe professionals at work. Our pupils were astonished by the fact that the building is twice the size of Croke Park and the height of 5 double decker buses.
Throughout the day the pupils were encouraged to 'Think like a coder'. After cracking many visual codes they then used this knowledge to programme a 'Sphero Indi' device. With problem solving, collaboration and persistence, both groups were successful.
Finally, the pupils progressed to using Minecraft Education to explore digital coding. Enthusiasm, accuracy & creativity was demonstrated by all pupils throughout to complete several construction tasks.
Our digital leaders were both amazed and inspired by what they saw, heard and learned. After a fantastic visit, it’s no surprise that many are already considering job applications!
Thank you to Dream Space for providing an unforgettable educational experience and to AmmA Creative Learning Centre for their partnership and for organising this visit.
