Portadown Rugby club was the venue for the Southern Region Primary Schools Cross Country Running Event sponsored by Flavahan’s . The weather was kind to the St Patrick’s teams of six boys and six girls who qualified from P5-7 earlier in the month. The race was run over 1200ms on very wet ground however both teams ran with great determination and discipline.
Congratulations to Molly Mc Gurgan P7 who finished in an amazing fourth place in the girls race and also to Adam Corr finishing 4th, Ethan Cullen finishing 6th and Dan Kelly coming in 10th position in the boys race. Four top ten finishers! But as always these runs are team races where every boy and girl run as best they can on the day for their team. Following the race it was announced that the girls team had finished in third place in their event and that the boys has finished second in their team event. What success. It’s hoped that both teams will qualify for the regional finals usually held in Mallusk in January 2022. Well done to all our team runners on the day.
