Cross Country Running Event in Portadown

Portadown Rugby club was the venue for the Southern Region Primary Schools Cross Country Running Event sponsored by Flavahan’s . The weather was kind to the St Patrick’s teams of six boys and six girls who qualified from P5-7 earlier in the month. The race was run over 1200ms on dry ground with both teams running with great determination and discipline.
Congratulations to Adam Corr who finished in an amazing eighth place in the boys race and also to Niamh Courtney who was the first of the St Pat’s girls’ team to cross the finish line. But as always these runs are team races where every boy and girl run as best they can on the day for their team. Following the race it was announced that the girls team had finished in sixth place in their event and that the boys has finished ninth in their team event.  Round two of this event will be held next month.
