Catholic Schools Week and Grandparents’ Day

23rd Jan 2025
This week in school, we have been celebrating Catholic Schools Week 2025. Our boys and girls have been learning about how we can be "Alive in Christ" and live life to the full.

There have been many R.E. lessons, assemblies led by our pupils, some incredible artistic interpretations of religious symbols as well as all of our KS2 children attending mass. However, it is the celebration of Grandparents' Day in Primary 3 which is always the centrepiece of Catholic Schools Week.

Both Father David and Mr McKinley spoke fondly of their own grandparents, the connections they made with them when they were children and the spiritual connections they still feel with them today.

This morning's prayer service delivered by our P3 pupils was a beautiful reminder of the bond between a child and their grandparents. It is a special relationship that brings joy, wisdom and warmth to both generations. P3 took the opportunity to thank the grandparents of all our pupils for the love and guidance they show them each and every day.

Please enjoy our video highlighting some of this week's events, soundtracked by the singing of our P3 pupils about their family tree.

Happy Grandparents' Day to all lucky enough to be a grandparent.
