Congratulations to our St Patrick’s swimming team who took part in this year’s Apple Blossom Swimming Gala organised by the ABC council and held in the Orchard Leisure Centre Armagh.
This year our school entered six teams, a boys and a girls team from each of our P5, P6 and P7 year groups. Having all swum in their individual and relay heats in the morning session almost every one of our 24 man team had qualified for a final in the afternoon. After a quick lunch the finals in all age groups marched on followed by the relay finals and then the Apple Blossom Shield relay at the very very end.
Once all the excitement of the finals had settled down the St Pat’s team counted up the medals won on the day….a staggering 29 medals, a mixture of Gold, Silver and Bronze. Also in this count were 6 silver medals which our Apple Blossom Relay team had battled so hard for to finish in an impressive second place overall.
A great day with super children swimming with pride for their school. Well done.
