Boys' Gaelic League Finals Day
After six weeks of our internal Gaelic football league matches held in Abbey Park each Tuesday after school there were only two teams left…..Cork and Mayo.
Each team, made up of a mix of P5, 6 and 7 boys, lined out on our school grass pitch with their classmates supporting them around the edge. What a spectacle it proved to be . In the hot sunshine both teams showed off their skills, hunger and accuracy in what was be an excellent display of Gaelic games. With nothing between the teams at half time it was poised to be an exciting second half. With super skills from P7 boys Logan, Kacper, Ryan and Finn as well as sharp shooting from P5 lads Conor and Michael the scores were neck and neck. But it was the Mayo team who ended stronger winning by a few points. Cheers and tears after a magnificent exhibition of Gaelic football. So proud of all our lads. A special thanks also to Mr.Kelly who every week helped Mr.O’Hare with organising teams, and refereeing matches, including the final. Thanks again and well done to all our teams.
