Primary Three Grandparents Day

1st Feb 2017

Today as part of Catholic Schools Week, we welcomed the grandparents of our primary three pupils to a special prayer service of thanksgiving. The children were very excited about their grandparents coming to school. Father Thomas led us in prayer and Miss Mc Keever played the piano as the children sang. The children were also given the opportunity to share their perceptions of their grandparents in their own words. After being treated to a cup of tea along with beautiful scones and tray bakes freshly baked by Brenda and her team in the school canteen, the grandparents were invited to the primary three classrooms to see their grandchildren in their daily setting. The children presented their grandparents with a handmade card which they had worked on earlier in the week. Thank you to all who helped make today possible. Thank you to our classroom assistants who helped to serve teas and take photos etc. Thank you to Seámus our school caretaker for setting up the hall for us. A very enjoyable day was had by all.The Primary Three children are looking forward to their special treat from Mr McKinley on Friday for being so good!
