Cross Country teams in action

22nd Jan 2017

The St Patrick's boys' and girls' Cross Country Running Teams were in action again this week. They traveled to Banbridge to compete in the third round of the Flahavan's Primary School's Competition for schools in the southern area. Both teams ran their hearts out on the morning. When all the points were added up at the end of the race the St Pat's girls team finished in an outstanding 3rd place out of 23 other schools who took part that morning. What an achievement! The boys' team finished in an impressive 11th place out of 24 other schools.

After the scores from each school's best to rounds were added up, the first three schools are invited to go forward and compete in regional finals held in Belfast later in the year. Unfortunately the girls' team finished in 4th place narrowly missing out on the regional finals by a whisker. The boys' team this year finished overall  in 10th place out of 24 other teams. Both teams deserve great credit for their efforts this year. Next big race is the Armagh International Road Race later in February.

A big thank you also to Mr Mc Kinley, Mr Marc Cullen and Ms Tanya Mc Coy for helping out on the day.
