Cross Country Champions 2019

Congratulations to the whole St Patrick’s Cross Country Running Team who won the Bro Ennis Shield last Friday at the Palace Demesne. Seven local primary school took part in this annual run over slopes and meadows behind the Palace building. St Pat’s entered six boys and six girls from each year group from P5-7 in each of the races on the day. There were top three medals for runners in each race and an overall winning plaque for the overall best primary school team. The team did exceptionally well individuall as in the boys P5 race Charlie Duggan came in first place with Paul Madden in a deserved second place. In the P6 girls race Caitlin Murphy picked up a third place medal whilst in the P6 boys race Conor Anderson also managed a third place finish. In the P7 girls race Elsie Druse completed the course in third place only a whisker in front of Niamh Rafferty you finished in fourth place. In the final race of the day the P7 boys all ran an impressive race with all six finishing in the top twenty. Joseph Duggan was our highest place runner finishing in third place.

When all the children’s positions were added up it was announced that the St Patrick’s Cross Country Running Team were crowned as the best team in Armagh for 2019 and were presented with the Bro Ennis Trophy for the second year in a row. Well done to all our runners.
